About AIGSB
An independent, practitioner-led standards body for accountable enterprise AI.
To establish and improve standards of accountability for the use of AI in organizations
Our mission is to develop clear, testable standards that let any organization show who owns each AI system, what it costs, who uses it, what data it touches, how its agents are secured and what evidence proves it.
Standards are written by practitioners who carry that accountability every day: chief information security officers, chief risk officers, chief information and data officers, internal auditors and engineering leaders.
A world where every AI system has an owner, a purpose, a budget and a record
When accountability for AI is as routine as accountability for financial statements, organizations can adopt AI faster, because they can prove it is under control.
Six principles guide every standard
Practitioner-led
Standards are set by people who operate AI controls, not by those who sell them.
Evidence over assertion
A control counts when it can be shown working. Every requirement names the evidence that proves it.
Technology-neutral
Standards describe outcomes. They never require a specific vendor, platform or product.
Proportionate
Requirements scale with risk. A small firm and a global bank can both comply in ways that fit their size.
Open
Drafts, comment letters and decisions are public by default. Anyone can read; members can shape.
Independent
Funding, sponsorship and conflicts are disclosed. Sponsors have no vote on standards.
Four activities
Standards
The AIGS series: six domains of accountable AI, issued through open due process.
Research
Anonymized, aggregated benchmarks of how organizations govern AI in practice.
Convening
Closed-door roundtables where leaders compare notes under the Chatham House Rule.
Education
Implementation guides, a shared glossary and briefings for boards and executives.
Founded in New York in 2026
AIGSB was convened in New York by security and technology leaders from financial services, a sector that already lives by independent standards and open due process. The New York Founding Chapter is the first; chapters in other financial centers are planned as membership grows.
AIGSB is being organized as a not-for-profit organization. Until the founding Board is seated, an interim convenor administers the Secretariat.
Interim convenor
Raja Chris
Former Managing Director and Chief Information Security Officer, Annaly Capital Management. Head of Technology and CISO, AIVONS, Inc. (founding sponsor).
The convenor role is administrative and ends when the founding Board is seated. The convenor does not vote on standards. See the independence policy.
